So I didn't have any intention of going to Yakima; I was forced into it. I just wanted to see Mt. Rainer, then get back over to the coast so I could drive the 101 down to Portland. But the best laid plans, eh?
The idea of wildfires in the Pacific Northwest is strange to me; there's a lot of water here! But I might not totally understand the complexities of ecological disaster planning. Anyways, forest fires and closed roads just kept pushing me further and further away, into the rainforest (which can burn? Man, I dunno).
However, it pushed me into one of my favorite parts of the trip, so here we go.
Not much to see in Yakima, but I DID finally buy a big box of home-grown peaches and some other fruit, and man? I've had some good food on this trip, and some good food in my life, but I ain't never had nothing like them peaches.
