So I KNOW I took some pictures on this drive, but I just can't find them anywhere. This section of road was INCREDIBLE. I'll try to describe it:

You're driving down out of the Sierra Nevadas, just shedding altitude like a motherfucker, all twisty roads and mountain passes and gorgeous ravines, right? And then you turn a corner and BAMMO! You see the land star to widen out, flatten down into hills bordered by mountains, and Route 2 follows the river down through it. And on both sides is where we grow, I don't know, A WHOLE LOT of our stone fruits. So you're driving through some of the most beautiful peach orchards you can imagine, and little roadside huts selling incredibly fresh fruit, and the whole tone and tenor of the country changes here.

I don't know. It was fuckin' beautiful and I'm quite annoyed I don't have any pictures of it.
