This town was so f'n great. I'll take Reno over Vegas any day of the week. Any day! Even Tuesday; the worst day.
As soon as I landed in Reno I knew it was going to be a 'walk around in the afternoon, find a coffeeshop to write in, find another coffeeshop after that coffeeshop closed, find a good cool bar to get wings and beer at that I can keep writing at, find a cool dive bar with cheap Jeagermeister to sort of keep writing at' kind of day.
And boy, did I do some walkin' around. I love old-school casinos; the only part of Vegas I like is Fremont/Old Vegas (though even that is too modernized now) and these 70's-ass lookin' gambling houses were all the way my jam, man. I mean, not that I gambled in them. But casinos are fun to walk through and excellent places to people watch, if you're in the mood for that sort of thing.
And Reno's a beautiful city, weirdly enough; tons of institutional and building art, and the 'cool part of town' is VERY COOL and the wings I got at the cool wing spot go on the top ten list for the trip. Had a really, really, really great time in ol' Reno, and I can't wait to go back.
